Lee Roy Selmon's existence includes football scholarship, family work and community involvement. His family's first name is Selmon is the eldest of the nine children raised in Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is one of the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the United States. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. The team also took home the national title twice. Third scholarship he was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a diploma from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week throughout his college years. He moved to Tampa after college, playing for the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. The year 1988 was the first time he worked as an Account Relation Officer in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young males. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing 256 pounds in college as an athlete, was captain of his team for the year 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame through The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
